AFLA x Melanie Auld III

Photos by Jamie Mann, Hair by Sarah Braim, Location Rosewood Hotel Georgia

Wearing
AFLA x Melanie Auld Jewelry
Red Jarlo Orla Dress, Stone Cold Fox Dress, Valentino Rockstud Pumps, BCBGMaxazria Skirt, Alexander Wang Masha Mules

These are the last set of photos from the AFLA x Melanie Auld Lookbook...if you didn't see the first couple of sets (here & here) I teamed up with jewelry designer Melanie Auld (one of my absolute favourites, and such a treat to have her here in Vancouver!) and created a 9 piece collection that we designed to be timeless & effortless, easily worn alone or layered up. We are also donating 30% of the proceeds to Canuck Place Hospice, something that is special for both of us.

You can see the entire collection and shop it here and you can read more about the collection in this month's issue of FLARE Magazine, and, if you are in Vancouver, you can shop the pieces in person at Blue Ruby or The Cross.

My favourite piece is the single triangle necklace, so easy to wear, and it looks beautiful layered with the multi triangle necklace. What is your favourite piece?

I had so much fun working with Melanie and designing these gorgeous jewels...thank you so much to everyone who worked so hard making this all possible!! xo

Ps. This week I am off to L.A, make sure to keep up with me via Instagram

Formal Affair.

Wearing
Erin Fetherston Gown

Sometimes you find a dress that really doesn't need any accessorizing at all...and for me, this is one of those dresses!

I love finding a piece that you can just put on and feel completely different, no bells and whistles required...a black gown is the ticket to create a simple but elegant look.

NYFW: Tommy Hilfiger.

Wearing
Tommy Hilfiger Top, Pants & Trench
ASOS Headband, Céline Tote, Schutz Mules

The Tommy Hilfiger runway show was one of my favourites of the season...from seeing the models getting ready backstage (Gigi and Jourdan, two of my favourites!) getting to meet and see some very inspirational people including Olivia Palermo, Rachel Zoe & Bill Cunningham, to the amazing production of the show itself, it was a dream!

The Park Avenue Armoury was transformed into a football field and the models came out to the best playlist (Beyoncé & Michael Jackson kept me singing along) and the collection! The red poncho Gigi wore was hands down my favourite, but each piece was so much fun, the 70's inspired silhouettes with stripes, knitted collars and bouclé plaid were so beautiful to watch coming down the runway, and I absolutely loved the football lace boots - so fantastic!

NYFW: Culturalist x AFLA

Seeing the latest looks from the runway or the red carpet is one of my favourite things to do, and Culturalist is the best way to see all of the top looks in one spot! You can also create a top 10 list of your own which is pretty fun, too.

Now that New York Fashion Week is over, I am already looking toward next season, and I've teamed up with Culturalist to let you vote on some of my favourite outfits to let me know what you think will be NYFW Worthy in September!

Check out my looks & get your vote on here

My last NYFW post is coming up Wednesday with highlights from the Tommy Hilfiger show...stay tuned!

New York Diary & City Guide.

New York Fashion Week is always a whirlwind, but no matter what season, it is an amazing time that leaves me feeling super inspired and excited.

This season I saw so many amazing shows-some of my favourites were Zimmermann & Monique Lhullier (so cool to see the dress that Emma Stone later wore to the Spirit Awards), as well as the Alice + Olivia Presentation - the white on white outfit stole my heart! Of course the J.Crew Presentation was so much fun, too...I had the chance to meet two fashion icons, Nick Wooster and Jenna Lyons and the collection!! I fell in love with the pink sweater & pink shades look, and the fringed skirts are definitely on my fall wish list.

Between shows & presentations I absolutely love exporting the amazing city of New York! I put together a City Guide of some of my favourite spots last season, and wanted to share a few of the new places & events I discovered this time around:

Bites
Sullivan Street Bakery - 533 W 47th St- Incredible soup & bread, amazing sandwiches, fantastic coffee and unbelievable cookies-also just has a great ambiance and is definitely a local favourite.
Tisserie - 870 7th Ave-Cool space, delicious coffee & pastries and offers some savoury bites if you are on the go as well.
Sarahbeth's -40 Central Park South -Yes this was in the last city guide, but it is one not to miss, offering amazing breakfast but also serves a mean burger & fries.
El Mitote - 208 Columbus Ave-Corn tortillas, refreshing margaritas & fun artwork, this is a perfect sport for a casual yet delicious lunch!
Magnolia Bakery - 200 Columbus Avenue at 69th Street-Cupcakes, cookies, brownies and more in the cutest little shop! Perfect place to stop to pick up a hostess gift, the packaging alone is worth a visit.

Sights
Eugene O'Neill Theatre - 230 W 49th Street -Going to a show on broadway is unlike any other experience...this time I went to The Book Of Mormon(highly recommend, hilarious!) and the Eugene O'Neill theatre is stunning, one to visit no matter what is playing when you visit.
Love Sculpture - 1359 Ave of the Americas-You will probably end up walking by the Love sculpture during your visit, but it is so cool to see in real life after seeing it in so many photos & movies.
Chelsea Market - 75 9th Ave -Fun to walk through, the Chelsea market has some fun spots to check out including a Sarabeth's, a delicious fresh pasta restaurant (you can also buy takeaway)and a beautiful flower stall.
SoHO-Shopping Heaven! Between Isabel Marant, Alexander Wang, ACNE & Opening Ceremony (as well as the brand new Michael Kors Flagship store that has a pool table & hang out area, perfect to entertain those in your party not as keen to shop!) it will keep you busy, and offers great little spots to grab a coffee or a bite including, of course, Laudurée.

I am already making my list of what I want to see next time I visit New York...that is why it is one of my favourite cities, it is a different adventure every time you go!
